Er will drehen, aber gleichzeitig auch entdecken: Sein Ziel ist die in Nebel gehüllte Insel "Skull Island" westlich von Sumatra. Obwohl Englehorn vor dem Ziel entscheidet, umzudrehen, ist es zu spät - das Schiff läuft auf "Skull Island" auf Grund. Denham und seine Crew verlassen das Schiff und treffen auf feindlich gesonnene Eingeborene. Englehorn rettet sie aus der Todesfalle, doch die Einheimischen entführen Ann vom Schiff. Sie wollen sie der Kreatur opfern, die jenseits der grossen Mauern lebt: King Kong.
